He is the coordinator of H-Enea Living Lab and the responsible for its implementation in 2012, after a long career in the world of innovation in the field of household Appliance Industry.
He started as a researcher at the technology center Ikerlan S. Coop. between 1990 and 1999, he was part of multinational R&D team at Interotex (Cheltenham, England) representing Fagor Electrodomesticos S. Coop., where he has also been head of projects (2000-2001). In 2001, he assumed the management of Rotartica, whose main partners were Fagor Electrodomesticos S. Coop. and Gas Natural, and produced the first air conditioner powered by solar thermal energy for the domestic market. Between 2005 and 2013 he has held the Direction of innovation in the Fagor Electrodomésticos group and the management of Fagor Hometek, a technology center specialized in environmental intelligence, design, energy and thermodynamics, nutrition and hygiene, acoustics and anthropology.
He gives H-Enea Living Lab a clear business perspective, a deep knowledge in the industry, an unquestionable ability to interconnect people and disciplines, in addition to an extensive experience leading innovation teams.
Xabier has a degree in Physics from the University of the Basque Country and a Master in Intrapreneurship and Open Innovation from the University of Mondragon. He is the coauthor of several patents and was accredited as a Project Management Professional (PMP).
